Nancy Seabold will be debuting her show "Love and How It Grows You... A One Woman Musical Revue" tonight, February 21 at 1pm at the Metropolitan Room. Nancy will sing songs from a mix of different genres from Cabaret to Musical Theater to Opera; Pop to Country, and American Songbook. She will be joined by Steve Ross on the piano and Sean Harkness on the guitar.
Nancy Seabold received her Bachelor and Master's Degree in Music from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has performed as a solo artist throughout the United States and Canada in Community Concerts and has sung leading roles for the Opera Company of Boston, Ford's Theater in Washington DC, Goodspeed Opera in East Haddam, Connecticut, as well as singing the second soprano solos for Handel's Messiah with the Boston Symphony.
The last few years she has sung for hire for classical church concerts in various Connecticut locations. Over a longer stretch, she has taken part of the NYC cabaret scene, periodically singing for "Salon" when it held performances at the famous, Algonquin Hotel, NY; Birdland Cast Party nights; then more recently Salon at ETC, ETC hosted by Marc Janus...Most importantly on January 3, 2015, performed a segment at the Metropolitan Room for the wonderful Guinness World Record Event.
Nancy has had an industrious career teaching music as well in prestigious private schools across the US: Drew University as an Affiliate Artist and at private schools, most recent being The Rippowam Cisqua School, New York. Nancy directed a chorus through The Crossing on the U of Wisconsin campus. She authors books for children by the author trademarked name, "NanSea." Her books include music exercises, songs, theater improvisations. Songs and stories have always been a part of her life in both performance and her work with students. Nancy has worked with middle and high school students in improvisation, creating theater through her Vocal Arts, DBA in Putnam, Westchester Counties, NY.
