After the success of her HALLOWEEN SPOOK-TACULAR, Bar Thalia at Symphony Space brings back Ruby Powers, the drag persona of Brent Lomas, for a cabaret of pop songs and comedy tonight, December 31st starting at 9:00pm and going until midnight.
NEW YEAR'S EVE COUNTDOWN WITH RUBY POWERS will feature the talents of
Natalie Storrs (Sister Act), Ricky Alan Saunders (Broadway's Rising Stars),
Carly Ozard,
Annie Nelson,
Sean Patrick Murtagh,
Lesley McKinnell (Wicked), Jeff MacKinnon, Kiyoko Fujimura,
Dana Aber and more!
Bradford Proctor returns to music direct. Graham Forden is the producer.
The evening promises an eclectic mix of music (from
Neon Trees to
Burton Lane to Beyonce), stand-up comedy, and party games. Ruby will also periodically tune to CNN for "New Year's Eve Live with
Anderson Cooper and
Kathy Griffin."
Dana Aber takes on special duties as both a performer and "kiss captain," helping patrons to find their New Year's Eve kisses. The Upper West Side Gay + Straight Singles MeetUp group will also be filling the crowd.
This is Ruby Powers' second public cabaret. Her earliest appearances were as a nightlife and event photographer under
Brent Lomas Photography (
