You've seen her on Broadway. You've seen her light up the screen as Kristen Bell's costar in the largely unseen art film "When In Rome." You've seen her passed out in various gutters throughout New York City. Now, Natalie Joy Johnson conquers the filthiest gutter of them all - Joe's Pub. Under the micro-managing direction of has-beenthat-never-was, John Hill (her co-star in "bare: a pop opera written in lowercase letters") Ms. Johnson is on a mission to corrupt you, touch you 'down there', melt your heart, and pretty much fuck you up.
Natalie Joy Johnson is RELENTLESS will be performed at Joe's Pub for one night only: Sunday, February 13th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $20.
Tickets for Natalie Joy Johnson is RELENTLESS are available by visiting www.joespub.com or calling 212-967-7555. Joes Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street, New York City.
Natalie Joy Johnson returns to Joe's Pub after 2 years on the road playing the UPS man-loving manicurist, 'Paulette' in LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL. Prior to that, Natalie originated the role of Law School lesbian 'Enid Hoopes' on Broadway in LEGALLY BLONDE. Other credits include playing twin sister Nadia to John Hill's 'Jason' in "bare: a pop opera." It was there that the two realized their true twin connection and became bonded for all eternity. Natalie has worked with Brian Nash for years...from drunken belting at The Duplex to the NYMF production of "But I'm A Cheerleader" (also with John Hill) to various cabaret ventures in only the most respected gay bars in the city. Natalie first worked with John Lucas when they both sang backup for Kevin Smith Kirkwood's solo show and Natalie and Kevin have known each other and been singing together for forever - first going on the road with "Godspell", and then appearing Off-Broadway in "How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes" (they are both featured on both original cast recordings!). Natalie recently had the pleasure of meeting and working with bassist Dylan Shamat and drummer Josh Giunta while singing jazz sets on the upper west side, and could not be more excited to be making sweet music with them again.
John Hill (Director/Writer) is a writer/producer/singer/actor/drama queen who grew up in Texas, attended Pepperdine University in California, and spent his formative years as a singer/actor on Broadway. His Broadway roles include Fender in the original Broadway cast of "Hairspray" (and served as Matthew Morrisson's understudy), Mark Herron in the original Broadway cast of "The Boy From Oz" (and served as Hugh Jackman's understudy), Chris in "Miss Saigon", and the off- Broadway cult thing "bare: a pop opera in lower case letters." After defecting from the pills and booze of Broadway, John moved to the small screen and has served as producer for "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D List," "Tori and Dean," "Top Chef," "Project Runway," "All About Aubrey," "Dance Your Ass Off," and "Attack Of The Show" and the upcoming Bravo show "The Approval Matrix" (in which he also co-stars). John is also the creative director, co-writer and co-star of the web series "Cooter County" with Laura Bell Bundy. In addition to Writing/Directing his muse Natalie Joy Johnson in "Natalie Joy Johnson IS RELENTLESS", he has served as a consultant/writer for Joan Rivers, Paula Abdul, Ricki Lake, Kathy Griffin, Mel B, Olivia Munn - and many other insane beyatches.
Brian Nash (Musical Director) has been music directing since he realized that his Catholic high school choral conductor was essentially headless. Thus began a long series of matchups with divas aplenty, including Ellen Greene in off- Broadway's A Broadway Diva Christmas, Kate Pazakis in ceaseless concerts and on her album for PS Classics, Unzipped:, Kathy Brier, Lillias White, Andrea McArdle, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and the inimitable Natalie Joy Johnson. He's conducted and played regional productions of The Last Five Years, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sleeping Beauty Wakes, and a bunch of other things, while his New York work includes producing and music directing SILENCE! The Musical , Butand two NYMF concerts of the music of Ben Folds. As a performer, he's performed on all of Rosie I'm A Cheerleader, O'Donnell's R Family Vacations cruises, has done two sold out concerts of the music of Tori Amos, and co-hosts Mostly, a weekly series at The Duplex. He has studied record production at Berklee, and has produced albums for Sondheim singer/songwriters Shanna Sharp, Justin Tranter and Stacy Allyn Baker, and has a totally useless degree in opera performance from Boston Conservatory.
Kevin Smith Kirkwood (The Boots) was last seen at Joe's Pub belting 'Sailing' and 'Infinite Joy' in William Finn's 'Infinite Joy Concert' the Anniversary Celebration.
