Zakiya Young Mizen, currently making her Broadway debut in "The Little Mermaid," will perform "Faith, Hope & Love" presented by Lee Summers' Just A Piano SM Concert Series. Taking place at The Triad on April 27, 2009 at 9:30 p.m., this evening of soul-stirring melodies performed purely to piano accompaniment will be an opportunity to see one of Broadway's brightest up-close and personal.

Though her voice has garnered comparisons to Audra McDonald and Denyce Graves, Young Mizen has a style, grace and presence that is all her own. She will perform a mix of gospel, R&B, musical theater and standards all centered around the themes of either faith, hope or love with guest stars Norm Lewis and Derrick Baskin, who've both starred side-by-side with Young Mizen in "The Little Mermaid" in the coveted roles of King Triton and Jetsam, respectively. Baskin is currently appearing in the role of Gator in the new musical "Memphis." The melodies of "Faith, Hope & Love" feature music direction and arrangements by Darren Ledbetter.

Zakiya Young Mizen is currently shining as Atina in "The Little Mermaid" and has been seen regionally as Carrie in "Carousel," Lois in "Kiss Me, Kate" and Pitti-Sing in "The Mikado." She has also performed as the female vocalist for the New Haven Symphony's "Americana" series, in a concert version of "Children of Eden" and was one of Scott Alan's original New Voices in his "Monday Nights, New Voices" series.

The Triad is located at 158 West 72nd Street. Tickets for "Faith, Hope & Love" are on sale now for $20, and for information or reservations for "Faith, Hope & Love" and other Just A Piano SM Concert Series performances, visit www.smarttix.com or call (212) 868-4444.
