Melody Hollis Debuts in MELODYLAND at the Joslyn Center Today, 7/15

Melody Hollis, will make her desert debut in "Melodyland" today, July 15, 2012 at 2 PM as part of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series presented by Les Michaels at the Joslyn Center's Arthur Newman Theatre. 

"Melodyland" premiered at Vitello’s supper club and Upstairs at the Federal became a live recording CD on the Kritzerland label. But her theatrical routes go way back, almost 5 years ago, when she received a Young Artist Award nomination for her performance as Annie in Musical Theatre West’s production of “Annie” also starring Andrea McArdle (Broadway’s original Annie). After that Melody made her Broadway debut originating the role of Susan Waverly in “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” under the direction of Walter Bobbie, a role she also originated at the Ordway Theatre in St. Paul and at the Wang Center in Boston. Melody was delighted to perform as part of the original Broadway cast of “White Christmas” in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC. 

Hailing from Chicago, Melody made her professional acting debut as Skylar in the world premiere of “Dollhouse” directed by Robert Falls at the Goodman Theatre. Regional credits include: “The Sound of Music”, Seussical”, “I Never Saw Another Butterfly”.

Her film credits include “Fred Claus” and “A Golden Christmas”, and on TV Melody has appeared in episodes of “Criminal Minds”, “The Young and the Restless”, the KTLA morning show and in numerous national commercials and print campaigns.  

“Melodyland" starring Melody Hollis with musical direction and accompaniment by Steve Hollis and stage direction by Bruce Kimmel takes place on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at The Arthur Newman Theatre at 2 PM.
