Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has designated actress Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal) and dancer/choreographer Maxx Reed (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark; Michael Jackson's This is It) as guests of honor at the third installment of Madame Mathieu's Soiree at The Duplex on May 12th. Described as "an Ed Sullivan Show for a new generation" (Gerry Geddes, The Bistro Awards), this variety show with an avant garde twist is as unpredictable as the patroness herself. The eclectic evening will feature an all new group of rising stars in stand-up, poetry, dance, songwriting, and performance art while Fahy and Reed will accept creative dares that arise from Mme. M's insane imagination.
Produced by four-time MAC Award nominee Drew Fornarola (off-Broadway's STRAIGHT) and director Tyler Spicer, the evening will feature musical parodists Kevin Zak and Phillip Taratula (Bloody Bloody Angela Lansbury), comedian Shelby Leshine, poet Iris Cushing, songwriter Mark Sonnenblick (Midnight at the Never Get), cabaret artist Amy Gordon, vocalist Kathrina Feigh Aranas, and actors Joshua Doss, Joel Pellini, and Danny Harris Kornfeld in addition to Fahy and Reed.
Madame Mathieu's Soiree will take place at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street, on Thursday, May 12th at 9:30pm. Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door. There is a two-drink minimum.
