McWhorter & Forrest Present 'Night to Howl' at Duplex Dec. 2 & 11

Singer John McWhorter and pianist Sheldon Forrest present a cabaret "This Is My Night To Howl" at The Duplex on Sunday December 2 at 7PM and Tuesday December 11 at 7PM.

McWhorter and Forrest last collaborated on "What's That You're Whistling" a variety show and "Come Fly With Me" (an obscure-Cole Porter revue) at the former Danny's Skylight Room, the former Night and Day Restaurant, and/or the Cornelia Street Cafe.  This time they bring "This Is My Night To Howl" to the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

Outside of John's musical pursuits, He holds a doctorate from Stanford, was a linguistics professor at Berkeley and is the author of several New York Times bestselling books on race, culture, and language, including "Losing The Race," "The Power of Babel," "Doing Our Own Thing," and "Authentically Black." He is a frequent guest on the TV and radio circuit, from Bill Maher to Bill O'Reilly; from MSNBC to NPR.  He is a columnist for The Sun and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

The current show features songs of obscure early 20th century songwriters, plus songs of Rodgers & Hart, Irving Berlin, Harry Warren, & Cole Porter that it's highly unlikely you'll recognize, unless you're just a major cabaret wonk.
