Matt Florio to Host An Evening Of Music and Comedy VI At Don't Tell Mama's, Features Leaming, Antonino, Meisner

Comedian Matt Florio of Comedy Doctors Inc. will host An Evening of Music and Comedy VI at Don't Tell Mama. This showcase and variety show will feature singers Analisa Leaming (Annie - National Tour), Gabriella Marie Antonino, and Zander Meisner (National Tours of Annie and CATS). Composer and lyricist Zoe Sarnak with singers Christina Buckley and Rachel Flynn, will perform songs from her original new musical "The Quad".

Producer Michael Martinez has previously presented showcases at Don't Tell Mama and several other New York City clubs. These showcases highlight emerging stars in comedy, music, and musical theater. Showtime is 7:00 pm, door opens at 6:30pm. Admission is $15.00, plus a two drink minimum. For reservations call Don't Tell Mama at 212-757-0788.

Host Matt Florio is a dynamic comedian whose talent is only exceeded by his passion for making people laugh. This Italian comic from South Florida stumbled into comedy after graduating from Florida State University with a business degree. Following his brief business career, Matt soon began studying and performing sketch comedy and improv at the famed Second City and the Upright Citizens Brigade, which eventually led to stand-up. Matt performs at New York's major venues as well as in New Jersey where he co-founded two of New Jersey's successful stand up shows, "Stand Up Parmesan" and "Newark Comedy Show". In addition to being a successful stand-up comic, Matt is an accomplished actor and screenwriter. Matt has been featured in films including "The Taking Of Pelham 123" starring John Travolta and Denzel Washington, and "Duplicity" starring Julia Roberts and Clive Owen as well as on television shows including National Geographic's "Explorer" and Biography's "Watching The Detectives". Matt is currently in pre-production of a comedy feature film in which he co-wrote and co-stars with famous comics Ben Bailey and Godfrey. Matt is also a co-founder of Comedy Doctors Inc. which produces and performs stand-up shows to raise money for worthy charities.

Analisa Leaming most recently was on the national tour of Annie (Grace Farrell) and prior to that the Asian tour of The Sound of Music (Sister Sophia, Maria u/s). Favorite roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods, Blanche Ingram in Jane Eyre, Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, Elizabeth in Robert and Elizabeth, Princess Sophia in Call Me Madam, Squeaky Fromme in Assassins, and Yum-Yum in The Mikado. Analisa was a winner of the Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers and received her B.M. from the Eastman School of Music.

Gabriella Marie Antonino has been singing and dancing since the age of three. Currently Gaby is receiving voice training from Tessa Lang, accomplished Mezzo-Soprano and faculty member of the NYU-Tisch School of the Arts/Cap 21. She has trained at Fazio Dance Center - directed by Julie Fazio since 1997. Local fans have embraced her appearances in numerous school and church productions where she has performed a variety of Broadway, Pop, Country, and Christian Music Her influences include Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, and The Beatles.

Zoe Sarnak is the writer, composer and lyricist behind "The Quad" She graduated from Harvard University in 2009 magna cum laude with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. and a secondary major in Music. She first began work on "The Quad" back in the spring of 2008. With grants from the Harvard Office of Fine Arts and the Radcliffe Women's Center she ran a 2-week workshop of the piece, which culminated in two staged readings in March 2009. "The Quad" debuted at Harvard's Loeb Experimental Theatre April 2009 to rave reviews. Zoe now lives in New York City, where she continues work on "The Quad" and the development of several new projects. www.zoesarnak.com

Zander Meisner has traveled through mountain and desert from the mysterious actor-land of Astoria to perform for you tonight Originally from Chicago, and matriculated from Indiana University, Zander is wide-eyed and bushy-tailed as per usual given this rare opportunity to rock on a Monday. Creditwise; albeit borderline irrelevant for your evenings' entertainment, has sentimental qualities to Zander and therefore will be shared. Recently, he played the Rum Tum Tugger in the National Tour of CATS, followed shortly by playing Rooster Hannigan in the National Tour of Annie. He played Will in the NYC premiere of R U Prime? with FringeNYC 2008. He received the 2006 Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Bobby Strong in Urinetown: The Musical. Regionally, Zander has performed at the Virginia Musical Theatre, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, Barn Theatre, Apple Tree Theatre, Northlight Theatre, and La Comedia Dinner Theatre.
