Following the release of his debut EP, 'Daylight', Matt Doyle is thrilled to return to Joe's Pub for a concert on on tonight at 9:30pm. This stripped, acoustic set of Matt's music will highlight songs from 'Daylight' and Matt's forthcoming follow-up EP, 'Sunset'. Matt will be joined by his co-writer, Will Van Dyke (Rent). He will also be joined by Spring Awakening's Emma Hunton, and War Horse's Katy Pfaffl.
All proceeds from the show will benefit Broadway Impact, a non-profit organization of theatre artists and fans mobilized in support of marriage equality. On the day of its release, 'Daylight', broke the Top 40 on the iTunes pop charts. Co-written by composer/musical director, Will Van Dyke, 'Daylight' draws inspirations from the golden age of soul music.
Doyle joined the original cast of Spring Awakening on Broadway at the age of 19. As an actor, Matt continues to work on Broadway (currently appearing in War Horse) and is also known for his recurring role as Jonathan on The CW's Gossip Girl. Matt has performed to sold-out audiences in New York's hottest venues, including Joe's Pub, (Le) Poisson Rouge, and Feinstein's at the Regency.
