The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, is bringing back -- for three nights only -- the super hot Marilyn Maye in her rapturously reviewed "Her Own Kind of Broadway". "Her Own Kind of Broadway" which was a sensation when it played nine times in October, performs Sunday to Tuesday December 5, 6, 7, all at 7pm.
Reviewing for The New York Times, Stephen Holden said Ms. Maye "swung the standards in a dark, honeyed voice untouched by the years."Will Friedwald wrote in The Wall Street Journal, that "Marilyn Maye is pretty much every singer you ever wanted to hear!" "At more than 90 minutes, [her show] still didn't seem nearly long enough!""The miracle of Marilyn Maye," wrote Michael Dale of broadwayworld.com, " is her wise and insightful way with lyrics is matched with warm, inviting vocals from secure and healthy pipes that a 30-year-old would envy!"Photo Credit: Genevieve Rafter-Keddy
