Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, will present SONGS FOR THE DEAD: THE SONGS OF Matthew McCollum Monday, October 23rd, at 9:30pm. The cast will feature Maria-Christina Oliveras (Amelie, Pretty Filthy) and Brennan Caldwell (Baghdaddy, Money Talks), among others.
Composer/lyricist and performer Matthew McCollum makes his Feinstein's/54 Below debut with an evening of ghost stories, both whispered and screamed. An evening in three parts (Songs For The Dead, Songs From The Dead, and The Little Deaths), you'll travel from the forgotten backwoods of Appalachia, to the glamour of 1940s Hollywood, to a Route 66 jamboree, to that undiscovered country itself, from whose bourn you'll get to return. Matthew won't promise a happy ending, but he guarantees an unparalleled group of performers, a total absence of jump scares, and a new collection of soulful, haunting melodies. Come raise a glass as they usher in the Halloween season with dirge, ballad, and revelry.
The full cast of SONGS FOR THE DEAD will feature Oliveras, Caldwell, Mallory Baysek (The Lightning Thief), Kate Berman (Blueprint Specials), Alex Chester (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas), Emily Jenda (The Book of Mormon, The Bodyguard) and Carly Zien (Nightcap, "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel").
The evening is directed by Jen Wineman (My Heart is in the East), features music direction by Mike Rosengarten (The Playbillies), and is produced by Dana M. Lerner (Indecent).
SONGS FOR THE DEAD: THE SONGS OF Matthew McCollum will play Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Monday, October 23rd. Tickets start at $25 and there is a $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.
