Direct from off-Broadway, acclaimed New York-based jazz-cabaret vocalist Marcus Goldhaber is taking a detour from his regular turn as a featured performer in the hit off-Broadway Harold Arlen tribute, "The Wonderful Wizard of Song," to get back in the solo swing with '2 Sets Forward, 1 Set Back,' his first concerts of 2013, in his return to Iridium in Times Square on Tuesday, April 23 at 8 and 10 p.m.

Goldhaber, the "wonderfully imaginative" (JazzTimes) and youthfully carefree sweet tenor who People Magazine says "will have you giddy one moment, melancholy the next and loving every note will be backed by the Jon Davis Trio. The night begins with his popular "Songs of 1928" show, featuring exciting arrangements of "Honeysuckle Rose," "If I Had You" and "Embraceable You." Goldhaber will be joined during the late show by special guest vocalistAntoinette Henry, a fellow featured performer in The Wonderful Wizard of Song garnering across-the-board raves in the Arlen tribute. Henry will help Marcus introduce new Goldhaber/Davis arrangements and much of their acclaimed original work as well, many of which can be heard on Marcus' critically acclaimed new CD of all original standards, "Almost Love."

The Goldhaber original, "I Fall Apart," from his 2008 album, Take Me Anywhere, will be featured in Jon Lindstrom's upcoming film, "How We Got Away With It" (La Vie Prod.), which was screened earlier this month at the SOHO Film Festival in a prime spot.

Marcus Goldhaber, backed by the Jon Davis Trio: Jon Davis, piano, Phil Palombi, bass, and Marcello Pellitteri, drums, with Antoinette Henry, special guest vocalist (late show only), will play Tuesday, April 23, 2 sets at 8 and 10 p.m. at The Iridium, 1650 Broadway (51st), New York, NY.
