Muse Match, an evening that seeks to answer the question, "What happens when 18 composers go on a blind date with 18 singers?," will be presented Feb. 24, 2014, at 11:30 PM at 54 Below. Produced by Bill Coyne, the evening will benefit the Boys and Girls Club.
"I have paired 18 composers with 18 singers they have never worked with, and out of a musical theater blind-date where the pairs discuss their strengths and weaknesses, passions, fears, the composers write a song specifically for and inspired by the singer."
"How is this evening different from most concerts? Not only are all of these songs written specifically for this evening, but more importantly, this is an evening created by our community to benefit another. The Boys and Girls Club creates an integral mentor relationship for young people in this city, and by helping them, we make this city a better place. All proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club of the East Village, and in addition to the funds from ticket sales we have an amazing raffle of donated goods including headshot sessions from 3 different photographers, cases of wine and vodka, voice lessons and coachings to be raffled off."
