Combine the time-honored skill of storytelling with the ageless art of music making, and the thrilling result is MASHUP-Stories Into Song, a show that explores great ideas with deeply-moving emotion in a way that's fresh, funny, heartwarming--and of course--hugely entertaining!

MASHUP- Stories Into Song is an in-the-moment show featuring original songs inspired by stories told by some of New York's hottest storytellers, performed to match the style and energy of story to song. Collaborators Jude Treder-Wolff, a songwriter/storyteller, and composer/ songwriter, Wells Hanley, bring this completely unique show to the legendary Duplex Cabaret Theater in New York City on Sunday, March 10 at 4:00 pm.

The storytellers for MASHUP-Stories Into Song are Bob Brader (award-winning actor/writer, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, Smoker, RISK!), David Lawson (Mortified, Story Collider, solo show Nazis And Me) Mel Dockery ( The Moth Radio Hour, PBS Stories From The Stage) and Michaela Medeck ( Little Nook Cafe, Long Island Teen Storytelling Program). Their stories will be sung by Bymaddz, Laura Ricciardi, Lydia Von Hof and a fourth to be announced.

For MASHUP-Stories Into Song, Treder-Wolff and Hanley find compelling stories told by people from all walks of life, ages and backgrounds, from professional writers and performers to "just folks" people, who've found the courage to shape a true life experience into the story that's ultimately presented on stage. Each story inspires a song, co-written by Treder-Wolff and Hanley, maintaining the theme and feeling of the story. The song is then matched to a singer whose style and energy best suits the work. In the MASHUP-Stories Into Song performance, the storyteller shares his/her story and the singer follows with the song it's inspired.

Jude Treder-Wolff is a singer/songwriter, writer/performer and creative arts therapist who is host/creator of (mostly) TRUE THINGS, a monthly game wrapped in a storytelling show. She's active in the national and NY storytelling scenes, with acclaimed appearances onRISK! live show and podcast, The Armando Diaz Experience and Mortified, StoryFest at The Peoples Improv Theater, among many others. Her solo show This Isn't Helping was featured at the 2017 Speak Up! Rise Up! Storytelling Festival as well as garnering rave reviews at the 2018 The Whitefire Theatre Festival in Sherman Oaks, CA. www.judetreder-wolff.com

Wells Hanley is a composer, songwriter, musician and arranger who creates the arrangements and music tracks for the songs in MASHUP-Stories Into Song. He has performed at major festivals and clubs all over the U.S. and Europe, including the Spoleto Festival in Italy, the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and The North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, as well as Birdland and the Iridium in New York City. He has performed and/or recorded with a variety of artists including Dave Matthews, Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter, Tom Wopat, Steven Lutvak, David Liebman and John McCutcheon.

MASHUP-Stories Into Song plays on Sunday, March 10 at 4:00 pm at The Duplex, 61 Christopher St., New York, NY.

The cover charge for this show is $15 online, $20 at the door, with a 2-drink minimum. Online ticketing is available on this link.
