Luba Mason & her band Mixtura will perform at Club Bonafide 212 East 52nd Street New York, NY 10022 tonight, May 18, 2016 at 7:30pm.

Luba Mason is "a powerfully emotional song interpreter" (ALL MUSIC GUIDE), blessed with "a celestial voice" (LOS ANGELES TIMES). The classically trained singer, pianist and actor with the impressive Broadway pedigree, really knocks you out with her stunning vocal range.

Born in Queens, N.Y., a first generation Slovak American and wife of Latin superstar Ruben Blades, Luba has released two critically­ acclaimed albums : KRAZY LOVE (Sunnyside Records) debuting her impressive songwriting skills executing a "cool, Brazilian mood" featuring Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets), Renato Neto (Prince), world-renowned flautist Hubert Laws and her husband 14 time Grammy winner Ruben Blades and COLLAGE (PS Classics), a beautiful marriage of Latin, pop, jazz and poetry. In addition to her solo albums, Luba was a guest vocalist on Blades' 2003 Grammy ­Award winning CD MUNDO. Having toured the US and abroad, Luba has been a featured performer at the Panama Jazz Festival opening for Wayne Shorter, Danilo Perez and Chucho Valdez and has headlined Havana, Cuba's 40th International Music Festival and Costa Rica's International Music Festival. In the U.S., she has performed at Radio City, Dizzy's Coca­Cola, Catalina Bar & Grill, Yoshi's, Blue Note, Iridium, Birdland, Regatta Bar amongst others and most recently with her husband at Jazz at Lincoln Center w/Wynton Marsalis and his band.

A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts (Drama), Luba has performed in 8 B'way shows including Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, How To Succeed In Business..., The Capeman and others. Some featured dramatic roles on TV include Forever, Person Of Interest and Law & Order. Luba is the recipient of the 2013 New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF) Award for "Outstanding Individual Performance" and the 2015 Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award Nominee for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" for the Off B'way production of "Pretty Filthy".

Luba is currently working on her next album with a drop date of June 24th, 2016 featuring a new musical format she has trademarked MIXTURA ­ "a blend of different musical currents". Her album was produced by legendary bassist Jimmy Haslip and will be released by Kobalt Records.
