Tony Award -winner Linda Lavin will kick-off the fall season of "Broadway at Birdland" on September 3 and 4 with two 7PM concerts.
The weekly series, presented by Jim Caruso's Cast Party and TheaterMania.com features top Broadway stars and theater songwriters performing at the legendary Birdland.
"Lavin, who will be joined by Billy Stritch on piano, John Brown on bass and Steve Bakunas on drums, will recall her roots in the theatre (originating Sondheim's 'The Boy From...' in The Mad Show) and her early cabaret trials and tribulations in some less-than-glamorous boites. Her concert will also include songs ranging from Gershwin to Maltby & Shire; Dave Frishberg to Trisha Yearwood," state press notes.
There is a $35 cover and $10 food/drink minimum for Lavin's Birdland shows.
Birdland is located at 315 West 44th Street, NYC. For reservations call Birdland at 212-581-3080 or visit www.BirdlandJazz.com.
