WHAT: JUST ANNOUNCED: Broadway, television and film star Lillias White will perform at the Blue Note on March 7. Her powerful, unmistakable voice has been heard in numerous Broadway shows including Dreamgirls, Cats, Chicago, Barnum and The Life, which won her a TONY Award in 1997. Ms. White recently received a TONY nomination for her portrayal of Funmilayo in the hit musical "FELA!" on Broadway. Over the last decade, Ms. White has shown her versatility with solo projects From Brooklyn to Broadway and From Shubert Alley to Jazz Alley that feature her singing jazz, pop, classical, and everything in between. But regardless of genre, it's the natural musicianship and mesmerizing vocal abilities that make her so unique. As the New York Times aptly put it, "Ms. White's voice can penetrate the heavens!"

Lillias White is a performer who enjoys an extensive and varied career in film and television and on Broadway.
Her most recent acheivement was a TONY NOMINATION for her portrayal of FUNMILAYO in the hit BROADWAY musical "FELA!" based on the life of legendary activist and musician
Fela Kuti.
LILLIAS has been seen and heard all over the world as the voice of the "LEAD MUSE" in DISNEY'S animated HERCULES, as well as on the original cast recordings of "HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS...", "LOST IN BOSTON," "DOUBLE DRAGON," "SOUTH PACIFIC," "BROADWAY CARES: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS," "LUCKY IN THE RAIN," "THE ODD POTATO," THE ACTORS FUND RECORDINGS OF "FUNNY GIRL," "HAIR" AND "DREAMGIRLS - THE 2OTH ANNVERSARY CONCERT," and "THE LIFE," for which she received a TONY award.
