Liliane Montevecchi headlines an all-star cast in The Ziegfeld Society of New York City's gala benefit performance of Ziegfeld Follies Of The Air: The New 1934 Live from Broadway Broadcast Revue, devised and directed by Walter Willison with musical direction and special musical arrangements by Mark York, at The Cutting Room, 44 East 32nd Street on December 18th, at 2pm.

Return to those glorious radio days of yesteryear, and join the studio audience at The Cutting Room, Heaven's Hottest Hot Spot, as Broadway's legendary producer Florenz Ziegfeld gathers some of the greatest stars of the 20st Century for one last hurrah, a holiday broadcast like no other, direct from the other side. Broadway stars from the present portray a bevy of Broadway stars from the past in this original immersive musical revue, inspired by the radio show The Ziegfeld Follies of the Air which was broadcast from 1932 to 1936.

Ziegfeld Follies Of The Air: The New 1934 Live From Broadway Broadcast Revue stars Tony Award winning legend and international stage and film star Liliane Montevecchi (Nine, Grand Hotel) as Mistinguett, Loni Ackerman (No, No, Nannette, Evita) as Fanny Brice, Drama Desk nominee Shelly Burch (Nine, Show Boat, One Life to Live) as Helen Morgan, Erin Cronican (The Seeing Place Theater) as Marilyn Miller, Marcy DeGonge Manfredi (Cats, Phantom of the Opera) as Jane Froman, Carole Demas (Grease, The Magic Garden) as Billie Burke, David Giardina as Will Rogers, Lee Horwin (Jacques Brel is Alive & Well, The Tonight Show) as Libby Holman, Candice Oden (The Seeing Place Theater) as Ruth Etting, Tony Award nominee Walter Willison (Two By Two, Pippin, Grand Hotel) as Eddie Dowling, Virginia Wing (Chu-Chem) as Mrs. Wong", Sheila Wormer as Matilda "Goldie" Clough, Mark York as Paul Whiteman, and acclaimed ballroom dancers Heather Gehring and Lou Brockman (Boardwalk Empire) as Renee and Tony DeMarco. Also featured are Jamie Buxton, Chelsie Nectow, Taylor James Hopkins, Lucas Manfredi and Ian Whitt.

Ziegfeld Follies of the Air is devised and directed by Walter Willison, Associate Artistic Director of The Ziegfeld Society and director of the critically acclaimed Grand Hotel: The 25th Anniversary Reunion Concert starring Liliane Montevecchi, Karen Akers, and members of the original Broadway Cast, and most recently Some Enchanted Evenings: The Glittering Life and Times of Mary Martin, hosted by author David Kaufman, starring by Karen Akers, Karen Ziemba and others. Musical direction and special musical arrangements are by Ziegfeld Society Executive producer and founder Mark York, Jim Dale's accompanist and on stage sidekick in the Roundabout's Just Jim Dale Off-Broadway and in London, and musical coordinator for songwriter Jerry Herman. Costumes are by Mitchell Bloom (Assistant Costume Designer of The Metropolitan Opera, Grand Hotel, The Will Rogers Follies) and Sound Design by Emmy Award winner Stuart J. Allyn (Dreamgirls).

The original musical revue features songs by such legendary songwriters as Irving Berlin, Howard Dietz and Arthur Schwartz, Vernon Duke, George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, P.G, Wodehouse, B.G. DeSylva, Robert Wright and George Forrest and many more.

All proceeds from admission to this one time only performance will benefit The Ziegfeld Society of New York City, a not-for-profit organization that aspires to enlighten, entertain and educate current and future generations of theatergoers and young artists about the legendary performers, songwriters and creators of our vast musical theater heritage. Monthly performances featuring Broadway stalwarts performing alongside young up-and-coming artists, as well as presentations by authors and screenings of lost film and television musicals, are presented for seniors, students and the general public at modest, affordable prices.

The Ziegfeld Society's 2016-2017 season continues on February 25th with Call On Dolly: A Brief History of Dolly Gallagher Levi on Stage and Screen, hosted by Richard Skipper; Thou Swell, Thou Witty!: The Songs of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, written and hosted by Aaron Gandy on March 25th; TBA April 29th; Secret Love: A Tribute to Doris Day starring Karen Oberlin on May 27th; and Friends & Strangers in Paradise: The Songs of Robert Wright & George Forrest on June 24th.

Tickets for the Ziegfeld Follies Of The Air: The New 1934 Live From Broadway Broadcast Revue are $100 for Super Premium Seating, $45 for Premium Seating, $35 for General Seating, plus a $20 food and beverage minimum.
