LezCab, formerly a cabaret series, is now a non-profit theatre company, with the mission to create an accurate and meaningful representation of queer women in musical theatre in order to foster equality and community. LezCab produces cabarets, new works, re-imagined classics, and social and networking events by, for, and about queer women in musical theatre.
LezCab is hosting a Spring Fling party, which will kickstart the fundraising campaign for the 2015-2016 season. The full season will be announced at the Spring Fling.
The LezCab Spring Fling will take place on Sunday, May 10 from 7-9 pm on the second floor of The Stonewall Inn.
LezCab is run by a team of queer women who work in musical theatre, led by artistic director Rachel Kunstadt.
LezCab's honorary board represents Broadway's most influential queer women. On the board are Jenn Colella (If/Then, Chaplin), Lisa Kron (Fun Home), Haviland Stillwell (Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof), Beth Malone (Fun Home), Jenifer Foote (On the Twentieth Century, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Stephanie Klemons (Hamilton, If/Then), and Carmel Dean (If/Then, Hands on a Hardbody).
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. There will be a raffle, trivia, a photobooth, and prizes. Cash bar available. The event is 21+.
