BROADWAY SINGS P!NK, the seventh concert of the series, is set for tonight, January 19, at the Highline Ballroom. Some of Broadway's brightest talents will sing completely new arrangements of the hits of pop superstar P!NK, accompanied by a full band playing brand new, original orchestrations of the singer's greatest songs. The previous sold-out shows included Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, and Justin Timberlake.
Perfomers include Gisela Adisa (Beautiful), Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kinky Boots), Jessica Hendy (Aida, Cats), Eric Michael Krop (Godspell), Lesli Margherita (Matilda the Musical), Chelsea Packard (Hands on a Hardbody, Wicked), Kyle Post (Kinky Boots, Spider-Man Turn off the Dark), Gabrielle Reid (Beautiful, Hairspray), Kate Rockwell (Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde), Mike Schwitter (Pippin, Book of Mormon), Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde, Cabaret) Anita Welch (Avenue Q), and Lauren Zakrin (Rock of Ages) who join the previously announced Christine Dwyer (Wicked), Colin Hanlon (Rent), Carly Hughes (Pippin, Beautiful), Corey Mach (Hands on a Hardbody, Godspell), Ciara Renée (Pippin, Big Fish), Zak Resnick (Mamma Mia) and Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture). Zakrin will perform on Jan. 19 only. Rockwell will perform on Jan. 25 only.
The two concerts will feature cover songs to celebrate the legend's iconic, theatrical songs, including "Sober", "Just Like a Pill", "So What", and "Just Give Me a Reason". The music will be orchestrated and arranged by Joshua Stephen Kartes.
Pink has released seven albums since 2000, selling more than 51 million copies and 95 million singles worldwide. She has received three Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, and six MTV Video Music Awards. In 2009, Billboard recognized Pink as the "Pop Song Artist of the Decade" and as "Woman of the Year" in 2013. VH1 also ranked her number 10 on their list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.
"Broadway Sings P!NK", produced and directed by Corey Mach (Hands on a Hardbody, Wicked, Godspell), will celebrate the success and talent of this raw, eclectic artist.
