Take a journey with me back in time to those wonderful days of the Lounge Singers! You know, the guys who always sang in one of those smoke-filled Clubs that were usually located in some closet-sized, dimly lit basement room back in the late 50's & early 60's? Well, at least my surroundings will be quite a bit classier!
With that said, this journey I'll be taking you on is my way of paying tribute to those greatest of all-around Entertainers that ever lived: the Lounge Singers. Oh, and just one more thing. The Lounge Singer was usually accompanied by an excellent musician or two. Well, I couldn't afford the "or two" part of it, but I did manage to get one of the best Piano Players in NYC; THE Mr. Daryl Kojak!
Ronnie Giles (with special guest Pianist Daryl Kojak) will perform in "Loungin' Around" at the Metropolitan Room, located at 34 West 22nd Street (bet. 5th & 6th Ave.) in NYC on Thursday, July 28th at 7:45 PM. Seating begins at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $15. Nearest Subways: 23rd Street Station on 1, 2, N, Q, R, F, M, PATH
