To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nelson Riddle / Linda Ronstadt collaboration of the Great American Songbook, 2001 BroadwayWorld Award Winner for "Best LA Cabaret Performer" Robyn Spangler will bring her show featuring selections from the three platinum certified albums: "What's New", "Lush Life," and "For Sentimental Reasons" to the Metropolitan Room on January 12 and 17.

When Linda Ronstadt decided she wanted to do an album of American standards, she wanted the moon. She wanted Nelson Riddle to do the arrangements. After all, Nelson Riddle made Dean, Frank, Ella, Judy, Nat, Peggy and Rosemary household names. It turned out to be an exceptional pairing and some of the last arrangements of Riddle's career. Spangler grew up on the 'Nelson Riddle Sound' although she didn't think of it that way as a child. Linda Ronstandt's dominance in pop music was added to her musical psyche in middle school and the two have been writing on the musical slate of who she is ever since. "I can think of no better way to honor the 30th anniversary of this music" says Spangler, who sings the original Riddle / Ronstadt arrangements in the original keys thanks to getting access to the charts from The Nelson Riddle Archives at the University of Arizona. [For highlights of Spangler's performance of some of the songs with the San Diego City Ballet Orchestra, see video.]

Spangler has appeared in prestigious rooms internationally and across the US including Royce Hall in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York and The Pheasantry in London. She is frequently seen singing convention dates, benefits and private events as well as commercial and film work. Spangler is also a songwriter and has charted #1 on ReverbNation with her song "Second Wind" co-penned with collaborator Todd Schroeder. The song has received placement in the upcoming movie "51 Christopher Street" due in theaters in 2016.

Spangler has two solo albums "On A Liquid Afternoon" and "Why I Love Linda Ronstadt," both of which are receiving play on Delta Airlines inflight Hello Music Channel and available on Amazon and iTunes. According to BroadwayWorld.com writer Don Grigware, "Leaving the audience wanting more is the sign of a truly great artist and Robyn Spangler fills the bill." RIDDLE, RONSTADT & Robyn will be playing at The Metropolitan Room for two performances. January 12 @ 9:30 pm. she will be joined by Steve Doyle (Broadway World Award) bass, Dan Gross percussion and John Randall (Jersey Boys) as Musical Director. Joining Robyn on January 17 @ 4:00 pm will be Steve Doyle, Dan Gross, Sean Harkness (Backstage Bistro & MAC Award) and Todd Schroeder (Broadway World Award and currently starring in HAM) as Musical Director.
