The Plaza Hotel, in Association with Donald Schaffer Management and Ward Morehouse III, presents Kat Gang at The Plaza's Rose Room, every Wednesday at 9 p.m.

Opening March 2 for an open-ended engagement

Singing Traditional Jazz Standards, Cole Porter, Gershwin and others from the Great American Songbook

"Kat has a voice that draws you into her magical world. I think she's absolutely marvelous!"- Liane Carroll, Best Female Vocalist, BBC JAZZ Awards

With looks as beautiful as her voice, Kat Gang brings her unique vocal style described as a "musical breath of fresh air" to the stunning Rose Room of the Plaza Hotel, the iconic landmark (at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue). The Rose room overlooks the Plaza's new Fifth Avenue lobby, located when the legendary Persian Room was once host to such stars as Bob Hope, Kay Thompson and Liza Minnelli. The Rose Room has a policy of no cover or minimum for its music, fabulous cocktails, wine and champagne.

Kat won over audiences at the renowned Oak Room of The Algonquin Hotel this past summer with a show appropriately called "Summertime." She also appears every Monday in the more intimate setting with guitarist Joe Young from 7 p.m. at Arcane in Manhattan, 111 Avenue C.

About Kat Gang: Kat has a soul steeped in jazz. Born in Boston she began her music theory training as a teenager at Berklee and then fell in love with the energy of New York City and went on to gain her BFA from NYU. After that she continued studying music at the Royal Academy in London. Kat lived and worked singing jazz all over England for seven years. She has performed twice at the GRAMMY Awards with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, has acted in various feature-length independent films, and currently is back in New York performing frequently and exploring the depth of jazz fusion and improvisation with her versatile, extraordinary ear and voice.

"Remember the name because once you've seen her you'll never forget the face - beautiful, expressive, vibrant. Kat Gang is an extraordinary singer with a trained legit voice who can also belt!" - Beatrice Williams-Rude

"For a softer, gentler, sexier jazz musical experience this weekend, seek out the sultry sounds of the wonderful Kat Gang who has been holding forth at The Oak Room in the Algonquin Hotel all summer in her show, aptly titled, 'Summertime.' Accompanied deftly by the versatile Ray Gallon at the piano, Gang strolls and scats her way through a varied program of Gershwin, Rogers and Hart, Jobim, Porter, and Fats Waller while all the time captivating her attentive crowd. If you like your musical fix delivered by a poised and beautiful performer in a form-fitting, red satin gown with exquisite vocal tone and phrasing, the charming Kat Gang is right up your jazz alley."- Terese Genecco, NYC Jazz Music Examiner; www.Examiner.com

"As any jazz instrumentalist will tell you, if you can find a singer who is able to scat be-bop licks, and on top of that, sing well in other styles, she's one to keep in the address book. Kat Gang is just such a vocalist. With a crystal clear voice, this Berklee and NYU graduate is making her rounds on the New York scene, with her blend of jazz and more contemporary styles. We're especially impressed by her solo on the standard 'Like Someone In Love,' and her original song 'Rosie.' Be sure to stop by and check her out!"- INDABA Music

"Kat reminds me of Anita O'Day - the kind of vocalist who has her eyes open and yet remains exquisitely relaxed in her lyric and the way in which she sings. She does these amazing things, while smiling, showing off her amazing range while looking like she is hardly working at all." - Helga Davis, WNYC

"I cannot tell you how impressed I am with her singing, she is very, very talented!"- Sheila Jordan, Jazz Singer
