Celebrated cabaret performer Karen Mason brings a little holiday cheer to The Big Apple with "Karen Mason and Friends: Christmas in the City," a festive holiday concert featuring special guests Liz Callaway, Gregg Edelman, and The Accidentals.

This special one-night-only engagement will take place Saturday December 22 at 5PM & 8PM at The Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space (located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Barry Kleinbort is Director, and Christopher Denny is Musical Director.

Karen Mason is one of the most sought-after cabaret performers in New York City, and her Christmas shows are legendary for their wit, verve, and originality.  This year's concert features a colorful selection of holiday classics and original songs, ranging from witty contemporary tunes to heartwarming ballads.  Highlights include: "River" by Joni Mitchell; Mel Tormé's "The Christmas Song;" "We Three Kings;" "Santa Claus is Coming to Town;" "Winter Wonderland;" "Let it Snow;" "Silent Night;" "I'll Be Home for Christmas;" "Not This Christmas," an original song by Brian Lasser and Barry Kleinbort; Paul Rolnick's "It'll be Christmas Before You Know It;" "Sweetest of Nights" by Shelly Markhan and Judith Viorst; and "I Eat" by Brian Lasser and Barry Kleinbort.

Karen Mason originated the role of Tanya in the hit Broadway musical Mamma Mia! (2002 Drama Desk nomination) and graced the stage as Norma Desmond in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, garnering critical acclaim and standing ovations on Broadway and in Los Angeles for three years.

Tickets for "Karen Mason and Friends: Christmas in the City," priced at $70, $55, and $35 ($60, $50, and $30 for Symphony Space members), may be purchased by calling Symphony Space at (212) 864-5400 or by visiting www.symphonyspace.org.
