The Manhattan Association of Cabarets has revealed that its Board of Directors has elected its long-time Vice President Julie Miller to become the new President of the MAC Board.
“I am so honored to be given the opportunity to lead this organization, which has been a vital part of the cabaret community for 40 years. I am excited to carry on the legacy and enormous contributions of past MAC presidents, including immediate past president Amy Wolk, and before her, now Artistic Director and CEO of Singnasium, Lennie Watts,” said Miller. “I am grateful to the hard-working members of the MAC Board for their faith in me and for the contributions they all make on a daily basis to run this organization. Following a highly successful MAC Awards show this past season, and very well-received MAC to School weekend that just concluded, I am looking forward to steering MAC into its next decade of service to our community, and creating new opportunities for our members to learn, gather, perform, and be recognized by their peers in this amazing community that so many have built over these past years.”
Miller is a NYC based producer and general manager of theater and film, and before that, she practiced law in NYC for many years. Before becoming the President of MAC, she served as its Vice President for 13 years, during which time she produced the annual MAC AWARDS Show for 11 years, as well as four iterations of MAC’s recurring show They Write the Songs. Miller takes over the reins from outgoing president Amy Wolk, who will remain on the Board as its new Vice President and will take charge of and oversee MAC’s website, membership database, and web-based communications.
The complete roster of the new MAC Board officers is Julie Miller (President), Amy Wolk (Vice President), Analisa Bell (Secretary), and Natasha Castillo(Treasurer). Also serving on the Board are Sidney Myer, Jennie Litt, and Kristoffer Lowe. Roy Sander and Lennie Watts head the MAC Advisory Board.
The MAC Board is also pleased to announce that Anthony Lamattina has become the newest member of the MAC Board of Directors. Lamattina has over 40 years of experience in finance in the commercial theatre. He joined The Shubert Organization in 1981 in its box office audit department, and then his scope of work expanded to include finance, payroll and audit functions. Ultimately, he became responsible for the financial and legal aspects of the Shubert’s investments in productions. Most recently, he worked on Macbeth with Daniel Craig and the Tony Award-winning Some Like It Hot.
