Jonathan Whitton (Bistro & MAC Award Winner, HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH) continues his critically lauded concert residency with guitarist AaRon Jones at Don't Tell Mama. BLACK SHEEP CARNIVAL. BLACK SHEEP CARNVAL will play the Brick Room at Don't Tell Mama every first Monday through 2013 with dates scheduled for Monday, July 8, August 5,September 2, October 7, November 4, & December 2. All performances are at 7:30PM. Tickets are $10 plus a two-drink minimum.
Celebrated for headlining both the Highline Ballroom & BB King Blues Club as Hedwig in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, Jonathan Whitton follows up his award-winning 2007 NYC solo-concert debut in collaboration with indie-musician/guitarist AaRon Jones. Times Square Chronicle recently proclaimed Whitton, "a 21st Century troubadour." BLACK SHEEP CARNIVAL is billed as a "monthly evolving freak folk alt-cabaret" drawing on song selections from his critically acclaimed, sold-out 2012 concert series, THE FREE RESIDENCY, plus new material which will change monthly throughout the residency.

AARon Jones (Musical Director) is a composer/performer based out of Brooklyn whose experimental musical, OF HONEY BEES AND THE BREVITY OF SUCH THINGS, ran at 17 Frost Theatre of the Arts in Brooklyn. Upon completion of his concept album DEAR DEAR FRIEND, he is currently at work on a new puppet/dance show, BOSEY JOE IS DEAD AGAIN. He spends his summer in residency at Perry-Mansfield School of Performing Arts and has created and produced a new musical in collaboration with Edith Freni, BLOOD, GUTS, AND GRIFT: THE BALLAD OF SUSIE PICKFORD in addition to collaborations on new work with Otis Sallid and composer Ronobir Lahiri. He is the author of several operas, plays, and musicals, and creates music for dance, plays and film. He worked as the Artistic Director of the Papermill Theatre Children's Theatre and collaborated on 16 original musical adaptations for young audiences.
