For two weeks only, popular musical theatre star Jonathan Roxmouth returns to Theatre on the Bay to perform the words and music of titan composers Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim. Between these gentlemen, the musical theatre was reshaped and revitalised. A fitting season to celebrate thirty years of world-class entertainment, LENNY, ANDREW, STEVE AND ME will serve as a curtain call for the theatre before it closes for a very exciting four-month renovation.
LENNY, ANDREW, STEVE AND ME is intended to be an intimate theatrical experience, featuring Theatre On The Bay itself as you've never seen her before. Pieter Toerien says, "The show will be presented on an entirely empty stage with just my own personal piano. We want you to see where the actors work and just how large our stage is."
Covering works that include WEST SIDE STORY, CANDIDE, ON THE TOWN, SWEENEY TODD, INTO THE WOODS, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, CATS, SUNSET BOULEVARD and many more, Roxmouth promises to take audiences on an intimate journey of exploration into how these three giants of musical theatre gave us the perfect musical. Roxmouth will be accompanied by renowned conductor Louis Zurnamer.
Running from 10 - 21 April, LENNY, ANDREW, STEVE AND ME is not to be missed. Tickets range from R120 to R220. Bookings are through Computicket or through the theatre box-office on 021 438-3301.
