As New York's premiere hub for emerging artists and new work, Ars Nova is committed to developing and producing eclectic theatre, comedy and music to feed today's popular culture. To that end, Ars Nova strives to create daring collaborations, meld disciplines and give voice to a new generation of artists. Past productions include Jollyship the Whiz-Bang, Boom, Dixie's Tupperware Party, At Least It's Pink, 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, Holy Cross Sucks!, Freestyle Love Supreme and The Wau Wau Sisters. In addition to its featured productions, Ars Nova supports and develops new work from the most promising emerging artists through its alternative comedy series (Tragedy Tomorrow), music series (Uncharted), public play-reading series (Out Loud), writer's group (Play Group) and Artist-In-Residence program. Ars Nova was founded in memory of Gabe Wiener.

Thursday January 8th 8pm Goodbye Picasso's The Book of Aylene Tickets $15
Goodbye Picasso, Audience Favorite winner of A.N.T. FEST 2008, returns for an encore performance of The Book of Aylene, a modern-day song cycle spanning a man's relationship with Aylene, "the one who got away." Come watch the Spring Awakening star unleash his relentless, rootsy singer-songwriter talents in these two special performances. He won't need much more than his guitar and unmistakable voice to make each show unforgettable.

Curious who we've got our eye on? Want to say you saw them when? Nova Scouts comb the city and scour the internet to bring you Showgasm, Ars Nova's all new, quarterly variety show filled with the next wave of cutting-edge comedy, music and theater talent. Not to mention oddities, occasional celebrity drop-ins and all out fun! Guests to be announced. Directed by Kerry Whigham.

TRAGEDY TOMORROW
TRAGEDY TOMORROW brings the raw underbelly of New York's alternative comedy scene to the Ars Nova stage. This ongoing series encourages creative risk-taking by showcasing a wide spectrum of emerging comedic talent.

Celebrated solo performers Amelia Zirin-Brown and Amber Martin combine forces in an explosion of pop songs, performance spectacle, and spiritual aerobics.
