Metropolitan Room, internationally acclaimed jazz cabaret, presents John Malino in "Home for the Holidays" on Sunday, December 28th at 1pm.

Singer-guitarist-bandleader John Malino is thrilled to be sharing the stage of the Metropolitan Room with his 15-year-old daughter, Sarah and his 12-year-old son, Buster.

In his more than 20 years as a bandleader, John Malino has played just about everywhere, from Birdland to Palm Beach weddings to inaugural balls. Manhattan-born Malino has been compared by the press to Harry Connick, Jr. and John Pizzarelli.

John has put together a show featuring some of his family's favorite Christmas, country, and jazz tunes - with a twist of classic rock! From Rockin' around the Christmas Tree to Folsom Prison Blues, this hour-long concert promises to be an unforgettable New York experience.

Come spice up your Season with this swinging trio!

Based in New York City, John Malino has played from coast to coast, from Birdland and the Kennedy Center to the Santa Monica Pier. As a singer-guitarist and songwriter, he has worked with some of the best musicians in the world, playing everything from Harold Arlen to Hank Williams.

As the old song says, John Malino's been everywhere. He began his musical career as a rocker, playing clubs all over NYC - from CBGB to Danceteria - and touring Asia. He has shared the stage with jazz legend Lionel Hampton, and performed a duet with actor Keith David; Sax great David Sanborn has played on Malino's original tune, "If I Had a Genie."

Highly acclaimed and often compared to Harry Connick Jr. and Frank Sinatra by the press, this multi-talented bandleader has been penned a "velvet-voiced baritone."

Born John William Scheuer in Manhattan, Malino spent much of his childhood in D.C. His father, James H. Scheuer, was a fiercely liberal Congressman for New York City for 27 years. His mother was interior designer Emily Malino. John studied at Bennington College and then came back to NYC to pursue music.
