Jim Caruso, Billy Stritch and Jane Monheit Perform in HOLLYWOODLAND

Singers Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and singer/pianist/arranger Billy Stritch will join forces in HOLLYWOODLAND: Songs >From The Silver Screen. Material will include beloved songs like "Pennies From Heaven," "Let's Misbehave," "Over The Rainbow," "If I Only Had A Brain," "Bye Bye Baby," and "It Happened In Sun Valley." Jane Monheit, Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch had such a great time working together in the Jazz at Lincoln Center concert series, and were thrilled when Birdland offered them a weeklong booking on the historic stage. The trio brings a wealth of musical experience to HOLLYWOODLAND, and they love performing tightly harmonized swing arrangements and lush ballads from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

In just over fifteen years, critically acclaimed jazz vocalist Jane Monheit's honey-smooth vocals, silky phrasing and natural knack for storytelling have earned her two Grammy nominations and established her as one of her generation's most beloved and accomplished vocalists.

Jane's sincere and romantic interpretations of exceptional songs have made her a favorite in both the jazz and cabaret worlds. She has been seen on the nationally televised "Christmas at the White House," the Capitol Fourth of July Celebration, and "The National Memorial Day Celebration." She has also appeared on "Emeril," "Ramsey Lewis' Legends of Jazz," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The View," and "The Today Show."

Jane also performs with the major symphonic orchestras throughout the country, and will debut her forthcoming project, "Hello Bluebird: Celebrating the Jazz of Judy Garland," in NYC during a weeklong engagement in January 2015. Jim Caruso made his Broadway debut alongside Liza Minnelli in the Tony Award-winning smash hit Liza's At The Palace!, singing, dancing and celebrating the music and arrangements of the late, great Kay Thompson and the Williams Brothers.

For his nightclub work, Caruso has won six MAC, two Nightlife and two BackStage Bistro Awards for his sold-out New York shows at Birdland, the Algonquin Hotel, and Arci's Place. He sang with the New York Pops in an all-star tribute to Kander & Ebb at Carnegie Hall, and returned to "The Hall" in a tribute to Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, hosted by Michael Feinstein. Jim was invited to sing at President Clinton's Inaugural and First State Dinner at the White House, and celebrated Bing Crosby in concert at Carnegie Hall with Rosemary Clooney. For the past eleven years, he has hosted a Monday night Manhattan showbiz bash at Birdland called "Jim Caruso's Cast Party," which has also celebrated talent at Lincoln Center and in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, and on the high seas.

His cd, "The Swing Set," was released in 2011. Billy Stritch is one of the premier singer-pianists on the New York and national jazz and cabaret scene. His most recent nightclub act "Billy Stritch Sings the Mel Tormé Songbook" earned rave reviews from the New York critics. In New York, he has performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and portrayed Oscar, the onstage pianist in the 2001 Broadway revival of 42nd Street. Billy is also a songwriter and arranger, and his composition "Does He Love You" was recorded by Reba McEntire and Linda Davis.

The single reached the number one spot on the Billboard Country chart, winning a Grammy Award and selling over five million copies along the way. He is musical director and pianist for many top performers including Linda Lavin and Marilyn Maye and is a frequent collaborator with Liza Minnelli, having written the arrangements for Minnelli On Minnelli at the Palace Theater, Liza's Christmas at Town Hall, and the Tony Award-winning Liza's At The Palace. He has four CDs to his credit, and is the winner of the Nashville Music City News Award, a BMI Song of the Year Award, and six awards from the Manhattan Association of Clubs and Cabarets.
