In the second annual presentation of Sweet & Low Down: How Popular Standards Became Jazz Classics, Director Michael Feinstein is joined by singer Nicole Henry and Grammy-winning performer Billy Stritch.
The three will explore the unique relationship and common roots between the two seemingly unrelated musical worlds. The show will present classic songs from two viewpoints: as they were originally conceived for Broadway, Hollywood, and Tin Pan Alley, and then as they were re-invented by jazz performers to become classics in the jazz repertoire.
Jazz at Lincoln Center will present a special family matinee of Sweet & Low Downon Sunday, June 10 at 3pm.
