FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will continue its Summer 2011 season with the New York debut of recording artist JAMES TORMÉ celebrating the release of his debut CD Love For Sale. Performing with the jazz trio the J-Tones, Tormé examines time-honored pop and classic jazz standards with swinging arrangements and an old-school R&B twist. Love For Sale features a number of originals alongside covers including the big-band jazz of Alan Jay Lerner's "Come Back to Me" to pop standards like "Autumn Leaves," "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" to songs like Al Green's classic "Let's Stay Together" and Michael Jackson's "Rock With You." Love For Sale is a unique way to celebrate what Tormé calls "The New American Songbook." The show will be performed for one night only on Tuesday, June 28 at 8:30 PM at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street)

JAMES TORMÉ, son of legendary entertainer Mel Tormé, was literally born into the musical traditions that he celebrates on Love For Sale. While Tormé is his own man musically, he sets out to live up to the standards instilled in him by his father. "My dad was a hero to me, and his lifelong love affair with music inspired my own," he notes. "My musical vocabulary was born out of the music of my dad and his contemporaries mixed with my own childhood loves like Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind and Fire."

On Love for Sale, Tormé certainly taps into his family roots with a bracing reading of one of his father's biggest hits, "Comin' Home Baby." Another highlight is his sensitive take on "Reminiscing In Tempo," a song whose lineage stretches back to the late 1930's, James' father and famed band leader/composer Duke Ellington. Although Love for Sale is James Tormé's first album as a signed artist, he is already a seasoned professional having performed around the world with his own jazz trio and various symphony orchestras. Such experience came handy in the making of the album for which Tormé assembled an impressive team including jazz composer/trumpet virtuoso John Daversa and veteran musician/arranger/producer David Paich.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present JAMES TORMÉ on Tuesday, June 28 at 8:30 PM. The performance has a $30.00 cover with $50.00 premium seats available, in addition to a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. The club is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City.
