Broadway veteran James Moye, who recently starred as the Lounge Singer Al in Dogfight and Sam Phillips in Million Dollar Quartet, will perform in the second annual "The Boogie in the Butt Benefit" concert Sunday, October 14 at 8pm at the Triad Theater.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).

"CCFA is a wonderful organization that deserves greater notoriety for providing education and support for patients and families affected by chronic intestinal diseases," Moye said.  "These diseases are widespread, unpredictable and difficult to contain.  We need to raise money for much-needed research, in order to detect the actual causes and someday find a cure."

"The Boogie in the Butt Benefit: Part Doo" will feature original tunes, along with pop, country, and rockabilly covers.  Joining Moye will be Lindsay Mendez (Dogfight, Godspell), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Marla Mindelle (Sister Act), Victoria Matlock (Million Dollar Quartet), Rob Lyons (Million Dollar Quartet), Dan Mills (Million Dollar Quartet), and Kimberly Moye.  The band will include Mills, Corey Kaiser, Eugene Gwodtz and Jesse Humphry.

The Triad Theater is located at 158 West 72nd Street.  Tickets are available at the door or online at triadnyc.com.  A $20 donation is requested, plus a two-drink minimum.

"We're happy to be back at the Triad this year," Moye said.  "Last year's benefit was a great success, and we're planning to make 'Part Doo' an even more memorable experience for our supporters."

Moye, along with several colleagues, raised over $100,000 for Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis research and education over the past year.  He has participated in the CCFA's half marathon to support Camp Oasis.

"We're grateful to Jim for helping us send children (with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis) to Camp Oasis and create awareness for diseases that affect over 1.4 million Americans," said CCFA official Ashley Chandler.

Moye, an original cast member of the Tony-nominated Million Dollar Quartet, replaced Hunter Foster as Sam Phillips in December, 2010.  The smash-hit musical recreates the famed recording session in Memphis that united music legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

Moye's Broadway appearances include Million Dollar Quartet, The Fully Monty, A Tale of Two Cities, Ragtime, Urinetown, and at Lincoln Center Theater in the world premiere of Happiness. He has toured nationally with White Christmas (Bob Wallace at the Ordway), The Drowsy Chaperone (Aldopho), and Little Shop of Horrors (Orin). Regionally, he originated the title character in the world premiere of Meet John Doe at Ford's Theatre. Moye received the Best Supporting Actor in a Musical award from the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle for his role as Russell Kingsley in Tinyard Hill. He was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of File 110 In The Shade at Signature Theater. He is a Council member of Actor's Equity Association, and he is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild and American Federation. He was featured in the 2010 thriller film Fair Game, starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, on CIA agent Valerie Plame's memoir, "Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House." Moye earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison University.
