Show business tour de force Jamie deRoy brings some of Broadways favorite stars for an exclusive one night only cabaret show to New York's new Birdland Theater, Sunday, October 14th, at 7:30 p.m.
Performers who light up the marquees of cabaret, theatre, music and comedy will join Ms. deRoy. The highly anticipated event is located at Birdland Theater, 315 W. 44th Street.
Proceeds from the concert, produced by deRoy, will benefit The Actors Fund: Jamie deRoy & friends Cabaret Initiative--- an endeavor that assists those in the cabaret industry who have medical needs and concerns. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs honored her with a MAC award for her many long-running shows that benefit this, her signature initiative.

Allison Blackwell, currently stars in Pretty Woman: The Musical. Other recent credits includeThe Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, A Night With Janis Joplin, The Lion King, Live from Lincoln Center's Sweeney Todd(Emmy Winner), Show Boatand Guys and Dolls at Carnegie Hall.
Gretchen Cryer and Nancy Ford were the first female lyricist-composer team in New York Theater. In addition to their most notable success, "I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road," they have collaborated on twelve other musicals, seven of which were produced in New York City between 1967 and 2007. Their latest collaboration, "Still Getting My Act Together," a sequel to their 1978 musical, is yet to have a full production in NYC.
Donnie Kehr, Actor, singer, musician, songwriter, director and music producer, Donnie has played featured roles in such landmark musicals as The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Who's 'Tommy', Billy Elliot: The Musical and Jersey Boys.
Joan Ryan, originated the role of Judy Denmark/Ginger Del Marco in the LA premiere of the hit musical, Ruthless!, as well as starring roles in Little Shop Of Horrors, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Footloose, Les Miserables, Nunsense, Angry Housewives, Triumph of Love, Anyone Can Whistle and Leonard Bernstein's Mass at The Hollywood Bowl.
Steven Scott, is a comedian described as a perfect mix between Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Carrey. Recently seen on Comedy Central and America's Got Talent, he performs in venues from Broadway to Las Vegas to other countries. Mr. Scott's comedy combines clever observations of everyday life with an array of vocal talents ranging from celebrities to musical instruments.
Multi award winning Director Barry Kleinbort directs the October 14th event with musical direction by Ron Abel, the award-winning arranger, orchestrator and conductor and Richie Goods on bass.
Ms. deRoy is an acclaimed producer; cabaret, stage, film and TV performer, recording artist and humanitarian. Her Jamie deRoy & friendscabaret series has been attracting New York audiences for over 25-years. Her cable television show spotlights well-known entertainers and newcomers.
In addition to Tony Awards, deRoy has won eight MAC Awards, four BackStage Bistro Awards and 11 Telly Awards for her extensive work on stage and screen. She has appeared on stage with luminaries like Joan Rivers and has headlined at many New York nightclubs. Jamie has produced nine CDs in the Jamie deRoy & friends series, all of which are available on Harbinger and PS Classics labels.
The 2006 hit album If I Sing, from Jamie deRoy & friends and PS Classics, in which 16 songwriters from the worlds of Broadway, pop, country and cabaret take on their own material will be newly released and available on iTunes for the first time with a full digital booklet.
