Songwriting duo Luke & Lisa (Luke Holloway and Lisa Mongillo) present a night of deliciously cool and delightfully weird songs from their work in comedy and musical theatre. The show is aptly titled It's Gonna Be So Good.
Luke & Lisa's unique style melds musical theatre storytelling with genres like pop, R&B, alternative rock, future bass, folk, and screaming. Their dizzying humor colors the magical worlds birthed from their thoroughly twisted imaginations. Come hear tales of a nerdy witch, a shy prince, a disgruntled porcelain figurine collector, the finer points of eagle anatomy, passive aggressive princesses, drunken tavern people, a ridiculously sexy goblin, and more. It's definitely not gonna be like anything you've heard before. But don't be scared. You'll like it.
Luke (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812; My Name's Not Indian Joe) and Lisa (Reductress; The Belladonna; B*tch Carols) will be joined by Jeff Hiller (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend; Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson), Francesca Ferrari (A Night With Janis Joplin), Janice Landry (National Pastime; Dear Edwina), Amanda Shechtman (Cruel Intentions: The Musical; Pop Roulette), Hannah Solow (UCB's Rumpleteaser, Baby Wants Candy), Charlie Oh (The King and I), Kelly Krauter (Pop Punk High; Single Rider), Amanda D'Archangelis (Single Rider, The Hunted: Encore), and Peter Johnston (Story Pirates; Conflicted).
It's Gonna Be So Good happens one-night-only at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street) on October 12, 2018, Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, plus a 2 drink minimum in the cabaret theatre.
