HeadCount is a non-profit, nonpartisan voter registration organization that has registered over 100,000 voters since 2004. This year HeadCount registered voters at nearly 1,000 concerts, touring with such acts as Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, the Allman Brothers Band and Bob Weir & RatDog. This concert brings together many of the musicians who've supported HeadCount, as they gather on Election Eve to inspire people across America to vote the next day (the show will be streamed live on iClips.net).  HeadCount co-chair and founder Marc Brownstein of The Disco Biscuits will be joined by Robert Randolph, ?uestlove (The Roots) and Stanton Moore (Galactic) for this first-of-its-kind event. Also appearing will be some of New York City and Philadelphia's most popular musicians: Joe Russo and Marc Benevento of The Duo; Chris Barron of The Spin Doctors; Dave Dreiwitz of Ween; Tom Hamilton and Scott Metzger of American Babies, and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits. Only 500 tickets will be sold to the general public for this event, which will serve as a benefit for HeadCount's nonpartisan voter mobilization efforts. This rare New York City appearance for Randolph - who made the ascent from playing in churches to New York City nightclubs and then to the national spotlight – will surround him by many familiar faces, both on stage and in the audience. He'll be joined by several members of The Family Band, as well as the other guest musicians. The performers have all shared the stage in various combinations, from the Led Zeppelin tribute "Bustle in Your Hedgerow" (Russo, Benevento, Drewitz and Metzger) to wide-ranging side projects such as Moore's "Garage a Trois" (now with Benevento), "Flying Circus" (Brownstein, Magner, Metzger and Russo), to name just a few. Scott Metzger is serving as the Get Out And Vote Party's musical director, charged with molding the contributions of all the musicians into one cohesive evening of entertainment. Meanwhile, DJ ?uestlove will spin between sets, while Moore trades off with Russo as they beat the drum of Democracy.

New Show Added:  Wednesday, March 18
An Evening with CHUCK KLOSTERMAN
Presented with Rocks Off
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 8:00pm
$25
For the better part of a decade, Chuck Klosterman has been cementing his status as the voice of a nonexistent generation. A kind of cross between Nick Hornby and Hunter S. Thompson, he's a rock journalist and cultural commentator with a soul...and a taste for cows (both sacred and literal). Read by college students & rock geeks alike with a fervor normally reserved for Harry Potter and the Chairman Mao, Klosterman is finally coming to the venue he's always belonged: a rock club.

New Show Added:  Sunday, March 29
TYR
- ALESTORM + SUIDAKRA
File Under:  Heavy Metal, World
NB:  SRO
Doors at 6:00pm, Show at 7:00pm
$15 adv, $20 at door
The one-armed God of War—the bravest of all—became the eponym of the nordic quartet. Yet Joensen is no war monger in disguise and points out that Týr (also known as the God of Justice) is also revered for first seeking the avenues of diplomacy — an attribute that does not take away from this God Of War's drive. The band's musical direction followed an unrelenting campaign of tempestuous perseverance. After six years of innumerable gigs (Iceland, Denmark, Russia, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Finland, Russia, Germany, and of course, the Faroe Islands) and several domestic television apperances, Eric the Red became the island's best-selling album, coming to the attention of Napalm Records, the Austrian label that finally made the album available worldwide.
