Hedda Lettuce, the six- time Drag Queen of the Year Award-winner (H/X Magazine), marks ten years of doing live, hilarious, audience-involved screenings of cult movies with a special one-time "INTERACTIVE "MOMMIE DEAREST'" presentation at the Ziegfeld Theatre, 141 W. 54th St., on Thursday, June 23rd at 8PM. This special event -- a melange of 'Rocky Horror' and "Mystery Science Theater" with barbed wit will usher in this year's Gay Pride celebration.

The l981 film by Frank Perry starring Oscar winner Faye Dunaway in the title role was a commercial success even though it was savaged by critics. The film's high camp melodramatics (Dunaway has since dismissed her involvement in the Paramount Pictures release) has made it a perennial favorite of Hedda Lettuce's weekly screenings at the Chelsea Clearview Cinema. Says Hedda, "I encourage audience members to shout out the lines, wave their wire hangers and tell the person sitting next to them: 'Don't fuck with me fellas!' In all this bravado, I dress as Joan Crawford and offer commentary throughout this camp romp with some intriguing surprises along the way planned especially for the Ziegfeld."

Hedda Lettuce a.k.a. Steven Polito has received national acclaim for her poised characters, startling satire and original music. Drag-debutante Miss Lettuce has established herself as NYC's premiere queen in classic cabaret venues such as Caroline's on Broadway and FEZ. She has worked on such networks as Comedy Central, MTV and HBO, and, in a several off-Broadway plays. Her comedy projects include, her stand-up tour de force "The Hedda Lettuce Show"; "The Dixie Chicks with Dicks", the country-singing drag trio; and "Lettuce Rejoice," the annual Chelsea holiday spectacular. Along the way, Lettuce has appeared with the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Tyra Banks and Madonna.

Tickets for the "INTERACTIVE 'MOMMIE DEAREST'" are $15 and are available online at www.clearviewcinemas.com or at the Ziegfeld Theatre Box-office on W. 54th St. For more information, call (212) 307-1862.
