"Songs You Don't Know..." had an outstanding opening performance Saturday, November 10, at Don't Tell Mama. "The response was so welcome, after working alone with the band for so long. Hearing the laughs for that Johnny Mercer song with five verses was definitely a relief" said writer and actor Mischa Kischkum (Comedy Central Television; NBC; Cannes Festival).
"Songs You Don't Know By Writers You Love" has lesser-known songs from famous writers, set into unique musical arrangements by Kischkum, who also plays several instruments in the show. He and the five-piece band plays pop, jazz, rock, country, and show tunes with ease.
Without giving away too many surprises, this new comedic musical review includes a song cut from "Hello Dolly!", alternate lyrics to The Rainbow Connection, and a top-ten hit for Marvin Hamlisch that Leslie Gore sang on Batman.
