54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Haley Swindal in "Play To Win" tonight, October 8 at 9:30pm.
Swindal's musical career has taken her across the country and around the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, and right back where she grew up: Yankee Stadium. "Play to Win" tells the story of Haley's quirky journey charting her own path in the arts, using all that she learned from the passion and perseverance of her greatest influence: her grandfather, Yankees owner and consummate New Yorker, George Steinbrenner. With a mix of Broadway, folk, rock, and some zany stories along the way, "Play to Win" blends a little baseball with a lot of life and love.
"If there is something called a "New York Evening," it occurred at that legendary space on 54th Street last night as Haley Swindal made her debut on "Broadway's Supper Club's" Stage," wrote noted photographer/reviewer Stephen Sorokoff (Broadway World/Times Square Chronicles) on Haley's April 2014 54 Below debut. "I will refrain from saying that in her cabaret act titled "Play To Win" she "knocked it out of the park!" The club was packed and Haley probably could have filled Yankee Stadium. I guess the room was in love with her before she came on stage, but if anyone wasn't smitten, they sure were as that beautiful voice and irresistible personality let loose in an exciting Barry Kleinbort directed show." "Play To Win" features music direction by Ben Krauss, directed by MAC Award winning director and writer Barry Kleinbort. The band features Chris Clark (bass), Allison Seidner (cello), Barbara Merjan (drums), Amy Griffiths (reeds), and Erik Della Penna (guitar).
Haley Swindal "Play To Win" plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on October 8, 2015. There is a $35-45 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 2:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.
