A concert of songs by musical theater writer Joe Iconis (The Black Suits; The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks) will rock Joe's Pub on Monday, August 4th at 9:30pm.
The
Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree is a laid-back evening of Iconis tunes, featuring cuts from Joe's musical "The Black Suits," (recently seen at SPF @ The Public Theater) and a bunch of new songs. Songs of hate and hope, suburbia and pornography, cougars and jailbait, dead people and livin' things and more sing-alongs than you can shake a glass of whiskey at. Some special surprise guests will join Joe for this, the third leg of his "Mule Revolution " Tour 2008. So come on down to the Jamboree- it's loud, soft, sweet, nasty, and, above all else, bloody as hell.
The cast includes Iconis-regulars
Katrina Rose Dideriksen, John Gallagher Jr.,
Matt Hinkley, Ian Kagey,
Krysta Rodriguez,
Lance Rubin, Brent Stranathan,
Jared Weiss, Jason "SweetTooth" Williams, and THE KISSIN' KAZOO SISTERS (Liz Lark Brown and
Sarah Glendening.)
Joe Iconis is the proud recipient of a 2007
Ed Kleban Award, a 2006
Jonathan Larson Award, and is the Composer-In-Residence at Ars Nova. His garage band rock musical THE BLACK SUITS recently completed a sold-out run at SPF at the Public Theater and his family musical THE PLANT THAT ATE DIRTY SOCKS is currently playing at the
Lucille Lortel Theater.
Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street (off Astor Place) and tickets are $15.
