There's no place like home for the holidays, or at least no place like Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT). ITHT in association with NiCori Studios and Productions announces the third season of Cabaret on the Hudson planned as a holiday cabaret on Sunday, December 11 at 3pm. This series offers a unique experience where audience and the performer engage in a musical conversation. Cabaret on the Hudson is hosted by multi-nominated Cabaret singer and host of the Music at the Mansion series, Corinna Sowers Adler who will be bringing outstanding cabaret performers to Irvington where they show a sampling of their New York City Cabaret shows. Sowers Adler recently premiered her show "Something Beautiful" at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Appel Room.
"My experience with Cabaret on the Hudson has been so incredibly enjoyable," says Sowers Adler. "I have found that the audiences have been gracious and kind and excited about our performers. We have all felt the positivity and love from the community in Irvington, New York. It has truly been an exciting new adventure for NiCori studios and productions! The theater is beautiful, the staff is fantastic, and the audiences are welcoming and wonderful!"
The past two years, NiCori studios and productions have brought amazing performers to Westchester County with credits that range from Broadway to television and film. Many of the performers have performed in New York City venues such as 54 BELOW, the Oak Room at the Algonquin, Birdland, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Iridium, the Metropolitan Room and Jazz at Lincoln Center to name a few.
The featured artists for the holiday cabaret are still a surprise, but like opening a gift in December, audiences will be thrilled with what they see on the stage on December 11th. Performers will each do music from their own acts while adding some holiday songs as well.
"The holidays for me mean coming together," Sowers Adler says. "Right now it feels like we need a bit more of that. I think that the holidays help us to realize that there are more things we have in common than things we are divided on. It means good friends, good food, good music, and warmth. I am so looking forward to it this year. We need a little Christmas!"
Corinna Sowers Adler, has been nominated as "Best Host of a Variety Show" and "Best Female Vocalist" for the 2012 and 2014 Broadway World Cabaret Awards as well as an Excellence in Theater Education TONY Award. Sowers Adler was a featured soloist at the 25th Annual New York Cabaret Convention held in the Rose Theater of Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2014. She has toured and performed her solo cabaret shows Stories, By Request, Songs From the Heart and Let Me Sing and I'm Happy at venues in New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
