Musical Director: Rick Unterberg

At last season's MAC Award show, Frank Torren was one of only three stalwarts of cabaret nominated for Best Male Vocalist. He's the real thing!

Theater has been a major part of Frank Torren's life since he was a young lad in the Latin Quarter of Tampa, Florida. His first theatrical pursuit was the lead in the school play, "The Little Dog Laughed." Soon he had teamed up with his sister to perform a dance act which toured all over and even was invited to a festival in Cuba.

Over the years, Frank devoted his professional life to theater, appearing in many musical comedies. Here are just some of the productions Frank has had prominent involvement in: Room Service, Say Darling, The Desk Set, Reluctant Debutante, Mary Mary, and the role of Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Soon he had won a role with Diana Sands and Julius La Rosa in the first national tour of Hallelujah, Baby! His career continued to build with a costarring role in Zorba with Michael Kermoyan and Vivian Blaine. He also supported Ann Reinking in Anything Goes and Jan Peerce in Fiddler on the Roof. Frank loved touring in the National company of Seesaw with John Raitt and Liz Torres. And of course, in the midst of all this, he became established as a New York City actor, with print ads, commercials, and extensive appearances on daytime dramas.

The community will not let Torren's show go away. It's back again by popular demand! It's a cavalcade of carefully-selected songs that have much professional and personal meaning for Frank.
