Feinstein's Presents MAGICAL TRICKS AND TREATS 10/25

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will continue its fall 2009 season with the return of New York City's most intriguing and provocative magicians and mentalists in a special early Halloween performance of "Magical Tricks and Treats." From the producers of New York's longest-running Off-Broadway show "Monday Night Magic," "Magical Tricks and Treats" at Feinstein's will combine an evening of elegant dining, mind-boggling magic and clever hilarity into an evening of all around great entertainment. "Magical Tricks and Treats" will run Sunday, October 25 at Loews Regency Hotel.

The evening's events - hosted by Matthew Holtzclaw, who has been called "charismatic and dapper" for the way he "breathes new life into the age-old craft of professional magic," by Our Town News - begins its transformation as acclaimed magicians as David Corsaro and Michael Chaut arrive at each table to do a few card tricks, maybe take some personal item from your table and make it disappear only to reappear in some other unexpected place interspersing it all the while with bits of witty banter and funny anecdotes. Holtzclaw will begin the stage show and introduce special featured comedy mentalist Jon Stetson who's superb blend of comedy and mind-reading expertise that audiences have called "mind-blowing," "unbelievable" and can't resist asking, "how did you do that?"

Award-winning magician Matthew Holtzclaw has garnered international acclaim for his elegant, witty approach to the world's oldest performing art. One of New York City's busiest entertainers, Matthew entertains at countless corporate events and private parties, and has had the pleasure of dazzling the city's celebrities with his world-class sleight-of-hand. With a background in theater, and as the author of several plays, Matthew frequently acts as a magic consultant to theater and film productions. Matthew appears regularly at Monday Night Magic, New York's longest running off-Broadway magic show.

Jon Stetson claims no psychic powers. But he is a champion player of mind games. Jon began as a magician but moved beyond the traditional tricks and props of magic to explore the real mysteries of the human mind. Call him a 'cognitionist.' He observes people's patterns and steps inside their heads. He amazes them with information they didn't even know about themselves. He engages people in a psychic partnership that makes them the real stars of the show. Together, Jon and you will do the impossible. His show is powerful, provocative, thrilling and new. Better still, it's hysterically funny. Jon's stand-up comedy, magic and mind reading, cover a core of mystery in an uproarious wrapper of fun.

Michael Chaut has captivated audiences around the world for over 20 year in television appearances on FOX-TV, NBC's "Today Show" and "Good Morning America" and at venues such as Catch a Rising Star, Dangerfield's and The Comedy Cellar. His rare blend of comedy and magic has been enjoyed by such notables as Mohammed Ali, Julia Roberts and Rudy Giuliani. He is a performing member of the prestigious Magic Castle in Los Angeles.

David Corsaro began studying magic at Tannens Magic School as well as several magic conventions in Cape Cod and Washington D.C. He would learn from some of the best including David Blaine (who was one of David's instructors at the Tannens School). Today, David performs at various events around the tri-state area and currently appears in "Monday Night Magic."

Monday Night Magic began in 1997 as Michael Chaut began presenting some of the world's greatest magicians on the stage of the Sullivan Street Playhouse in Greenwich Village. Every Monday, at this historic theater, audiences were captivated by a different array of the finest stage magicians performing in an intimate "parlor-like" theatrical setting. The show won the New York Press "Best of Manhattan" Award and was called "stupendous and amazing" by New York Magazine. According to the New York Post, "it was fascinating and produced a small child's sense of wonder."

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present "Magical Tricks and Treats" on Sunday, October 25. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, magicians will be visiting each table by 6:00 PM and the stage show will begin at 7:30 PM. All shows have a $25.00 cover with $40.00 premium seats and $65.00 up close VIP seating. All shows have a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required.
