F. Michael Haynie, Julia Knitel and Ryann Redmond to Headline 'CHASING SUMMER' at 54 Below

Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Chasing Summer, a new concert from the award-winning writing team of Ben Chavez & Yianni Papadimos. F. Michael Haynie (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory), Julia Knitel (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Ryann Redmond (Bring It On: The Musical) are set to headline the concert.

Chasing Summer will be presented as part of New Writers At 54!, a summer series at Feinstein's/54 Below showcasing exciting work by today's hottest emerging voices, curated by Creative and Programming Director Jennifer Ashley Tepper.

Join Chavez, Papadimos, and all their friends as they try to stop summer from ending with a night of blazing new musical theatre. Chasing Summer will include songs from The Cobalteans (NYMF 2015 Outstanding Music, Lyrics, and Book), their new musical Elysium, and several selections that have never been heard before.

The concert will also feature PJ Adzima (The Book of Mormon), Sommer Carbuccia, Bryce Dutton (From Here to Eternity), Adrienne Eller (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Ruthy Froch, Tara Halpern, Danté Jeanfelix, Eliza McCoy, Colin Parrinello, Amanda Pinto, Monet Sabel (Sweeney Todd), Matthew Stoke, Kuhoo Verma (Monsoon Wedding), as well as Chris Dilley, Danielle Chambers, and Laura Koch of the Broadway Inspirational Voices. Chasing Summer will be music directed by Kristin Lee Rosenfeld.

Chavez & Papadimos: Chasing Summer plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on August 27th at 9:30 PM. There is a $25-$35 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Ben Chavez is an actor and composer born and raised in New Jersey. As a performer, he has appeared at various performance venues in the NYC area, including: Radio City, NJPAC, Lincoln Center, The Paper Mill Playhouse, Madison Square Garden, and Town Hall. Favorite theatre credits include: Marry Harry (York Theatre Company), Grease (North Shore Music Theatre), Bombshell (Minskoff Theater), Legally Blonde (Sacramento Music Circus), and a reading of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's The Visitor (The Public Theater). Ben is a music faculty member at the Joffrey Ballet School, New York University, Marymount Manhattan College and an outreach musician with the Broadway Inspiration Voices. You can find Ben playing piano bar every Saturday evening at the iconic Don't Tell Mama. He is a graduate of the New Studio on Broadway at NYU Tisch.

Yianni Papadimos is a Greek-American playwright, lyricist, and actor working in theatre and film. Papadimos was a writer and performer in The New York University Reality Show for two years (2014 and 2015). The show, a welcome gift to the incoming freshman class, was performed onstage at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Better to Live, a short documentary chronicling the development of the Reality Show, was an official selection at the 2015 TriBeCa Film Festival. His newest play, The Dog Died: A Midwestern Case Study, debuted as part of the 2017 Dixon Place HOT! Festival with Papadimos onstage. He holds a BFA in Drama and English Literature from NYU.

Chavez and Papadimos began working together during their undergraduate careers at NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway. They have had their work performed and produced at NYC venues such as 54 Below, The Musical Theatre Factory, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Dixon Place, and Don't Tell Mama. The team's first full-length musical, The Cobalteans, was an official selection at the 2015 New York Musical Festival. Chavez won the award for Outstanding Music. Papadimos won the awards for Outstanding Book & Outstanding Lyrics. Chavez and Papadimos were most recently guest artists at Ohio Northern University's Department of Theatre Arts. Their newest musical, Elysium, was presented as part of the university's main stage season after being developed at the 2016 Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival's PiTCH series.
