Five years after the release of Euan's first studio album, "NewClear," he returned to the studio to record "Caledonia - The Homecoming" (Lyric Partners), an ode to his homeland, Scotland. After moving to London in his early 20's, he ended up in New York City. It was his arrival in the US that made Morton realize how special it was to be Scottish. "I have met so many relatives of my forebears here and seeing how proud they were of their ancestry filled me with my own sense of pride and belonging. The songs I remembered hearing when I was a little boy began running through my head again. I felt a calling and a need to say ‘thank you' to the place I'll always call home."
"Caledonia - The Homecoming" was recorded at Bias Studios in Springfield, VA. The album is a mix of contemporary and standard songs, all of which pay tribute to Morton's homeland, Scotland. The pianist and arranger was Jon Carroll, from Starland Vocal Band and the engineer was Bob Dawson. Set list includes "The Dark Island," "My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose," "Loch Lomond," "Danny Boy," "Auld Lang Syne," and "Caledonia."Photo Credit: Walter McBride/WM Photos
