After critically lauded performances in New York, London and Paris, award-winning performer Eric Yves Garcia (Margaret Whiting Award; Bistro Award for Singing Instrumentalist) announces his return engagement of 'Keepers of The Keys', on Tuesday, March 7 (7:00pm) at Feinstein's / 54 Below.
The show is written and performed by Mr. Garcia, and is being presented by Treble Clef, LLC. Mr. Garcia is proud to be joined onstage by Musical Director Tom Hubbard on bass, Howie Gordon on percussion and John Cariddi on guitar.
When America hit the town after theater, when America stayed up late... What made a nightclub vibrant with color and possibility when it was just noise and smoke? When curtains had dropped, when plates had been cleared and nights were still young, what men at pianos formed the smart after-hours entertainment? These musicians pinned behind that instrument became destinations unto themselves, their names spoken like luxury hideaways. You visited their pianos sure of their caliber and crisp sophistication, yet none of them began there.
Each of these performers used the piano keys to unlock their futures:
NAT 'KING' COLE, The Balladeer
Hoagy Carmichael, The Honky Tonk Philosopher
LESLIE 'HUTCH' HUTCHINSON, The Gigolo
Bobby Short, The Bon Vivant
These are the 'Keepers of The Keys'. Don't miss lauded singer and pianist Eric Yves Garcia as he walks along the hall of his heroes.
