Eric Michael Gillett Benefit for Cabaret Cares at the Laurie Beechman, 4/17

Award winning vocalist ERIC Michael GillETT will close out the 2010/2011 season of CABARET CARES, with I WON'T SING A SONDHEIM SONG...or will I? at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Sunday, April 17th at 7pm. The evening will be presented as a benefit for Cabaret Cares.

Joining Mr. Gillett on stage will be special guests, Broadway veteran Melanie Vaughan & international cabaret artist Karen Akers. Also performing are Chris J. Handley & Kelly McDonald. Musical Director/Arranger JEFF CUBETA will be on piano.

The recipient of the first ever "Spirit Award" presented by Help Is On The Way Today in 2010, ERIC Michael GillETT has appeared on Broadway in Kiss Me Kate, Sweet Smell of Success & The Frogs. New York audiences have seen him in the role of "Papa Denny" in Dream A Little Dream at the Village Theatre, in the York Theater's workshop of the The Tutor & in the New York City Opera productions of Cinderella, Pirates of Penzance & Candide. Off-Broadway credits include Frankenstein at 37 Arts, Good Companions at the York Theater, Of Thee I Sing with Encores! & Time & Again at Manhattan Theater Club. His film & television appearances include "Law & Order," "Ed," The Producers, Maid in Manhattan & the indie feature, The Third Testament. He recently appeared at Feinstein's & at McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ, with WIDESCREEN Songs From & About the Movies. In addition to directing for the stage & cabaret, Eric Michael is the director of Dance On! the 2010/2011 edition of the Big Apple Circus & is the 2009 recipient of the Dick Gallagher Award from the Mabel Mercer Foundation.

Cabaret Cares is the award-winning series which raises funds for Help Is On The Way Today, a not for profit organization that helps & assists LGBT youth living with HIV & AIDS.
