Emily Bergl's new cabaret show, Til I Get It Right, will have a one night only preview at Rockwell Table and Stage on Tuesday October 29th at 8 PM.
Til I Get It Right exposes the lengths we go to in our search for love and what we do when we don't find it, or even more frightening, when we do. In her signature nouveau cabaret style, Bergl uses the past to illuminate the present, blending together Irving Berlin with Blondie, Rodgers and Hammerstein with Tracey Chapman & even Noel Coward with Britney Spears. You'll be treated not only to an evening of diverse songs, but a full cast of characters all personified by this veteran Broadway actress. At turns heartbreaking, droll and a little dangerous, this is a truly modern cabaret.
"Cabaret is a vital art form that is in real danger of dying out," says Bergl. "Especially now people are craving more intimate forms of entertainment, and I want to introduce a new audience to this remarkable tradition."
Broadway veteran Emily Bergl (Comedy of Errors, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) is best known for her roles on TV shows such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Southland". In 2011, Bergl burst onto the cabaret scene at the historic Oak Room and has since become a breakout star, garnering raves from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She has performed at the Cafe Carlyle, Yoshi's, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and leading venues across the country. This fall she will appear in Steven Soderbergh's "The Knick" on Cinemax. Her album, "Emily Bergl: Live at the Algonquin" is available on Amazon and iTunes.
