Come see what all the buzz is about! See Elena Gronlund live at The Duplex Monday May 5th at 9:30pm. Elena has performed her cabaret all over the world for crowds as large as 1500 to as intimate as a club - and now brings it home to the Big Apple. Danny Leary has said " She is a classy performer with lungs of steel. She is witty and talented". Her cabaret is packed with songs from vaudeville to now and is presented in a fashion of that can be likened to classic divas such as Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.
In her Duplex cabaret debut Elena has taken the classic cabaret and added a sexy and fresh twist. Her own interpretation of Gershwin's classic "I Got Rhythm" is a sure crowd pleaser as well as a new and sassy twist to Disney's classic "So This Is Love" from Cinderella. In addition to the old favorites, Elena has added an obscure vaudeville song and modern day material from
Mel Brooks' The Producers.
Elena has performed in shows and cabaret's in cities such as Rome, Italy; Frankfurt, Germany; Barcelona, Spain; London, UK; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and many others. She also lived and performed in the Caribbean for a time with the Disney Corporation. While in Holland she did some modeling for Diesel and helped in the opening of Diesel's flagship store in Amsterdam. The opening had many European pop stars such as Renee and Natasha Bedingfield.
On domestic soil Elena has had the opportunity to perform with the St. Louis Reparatory Theater, The Kansas City Symphony with conductor William McLaughlin, and a half time show with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. She has been onstage at Therapy in New York with the Ho & Mo Show and performed with Danny Leary in his variety show On the Rocks at the Duplex.
