On Monday, March 10 at 9:30PM, Joe's Pub presents the return of Pulitzer Prize finalist Eisa Davis, currently starring in Broadway's Passing; with her unique brand of stripped down, soulful, piano-lush reveries. Her original songs were featured regularly on the Showtime series "Soul Food," and her debut full-length album, "Something Else," was just released this December in Japan.
In addition to her career as an actress and singer/songwriter,. Davis is also an accomplished playwright whose play Bulrusher was a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Her newest work, Angela's Mixtape – inspired by her own life growing up in the shadow of her aunt, the activist and educator Angela Davis – recently opened at Synchronicity Theater in Atlanta.
